Fleming's Right Hand Rule: Thumb, Index, and Middle fingers are kept **mutually perpendicular (90°)** to each other. Select a preset vector orientation below:
2.5 m/s
1.2 Tesla
90° (Max EMF)
120 RPM
📚 CITS Instructor Study Guide
Fleming's Right Hand Rule (Generators):
Stretch the **Thumb, Index finger, and Middle finger** of your **RIGHT HAND** mutually perpendicular (90° angles) to each other:
- 👍 Thumb: Direction of Motion / Force (v)
- 👆 Index Finger: Direction of Magnetic Field (B)
- 🖕 Middle Finger: Direction of Induced Current (I)
Dynamically Induced EMF Formula:
e = B · L · v · sin(θ)
Where B = Field Density (Tesla), L = Conductor Length (m), v = Velocity (m/s), and θ = Cutting Angle.
Father, Mother, Child Mnemonic:
• Father = Force / Motion (Thumb)
• Mother = Magnetic Field (Index finger)
• Child = Current (Middle finger)
Left Hand vs Right Hand Rule (Exam Tip):
Left Hand Rule
• Used for Electric Motors
• Input: Field & Current
• Output: Motion (Force)
Right Hand Rule
• Used for Generators
• Input: Field & Motion
• Output: Induced Current
