📚 CITS Electrician Key Concepts
Faraday's 1st Law:
Whenever the magnetic flux ($\Phi$) linked with a closed circuit changes, an Electro-Motive Force (EMF) is induced in the circuit.
Faraday's 2nd Law:
The magnitude of induced EMF is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linkages.
$$e = -N \frac{d\Phi}{dt}$$
Lenz's Law (Direction of Current):
The direction of the induced current is always such that its magnetic effect **opposes** the change in flux causing it (represented by the negative sign in the formula).
💡 Exam Tip for Instructors:
- Static Magnet = Zero relative motion = 0 Volt induced.
- Faster motion = Higher rate $d\Phi/dt$ = Brighter bulb.
- Reversing motion direction flips current polarity on Galvanometer.
